I wanted to start my fashion profile posts with one of my favorite musician/designers: Gwen Stefani. Ever since her debut with No Doubt, Gwen Stefani has become to be known around the world for her eclectic, unique and original personal style. She is recognized by fashion trend-setters by constantly changing her image and tirelessly searching out new and interesting style influences, which has resulted over time in a dramatic evolution from SoCal rocker girl to cover-girl sexpot, avant-garde experimentalist to established fashion icon.
I remember first being influenced by her style back when she used to wear a bindi on her forehead which you can see in the "Just a girl" video. I thought she looked so cool that I went and got these gem stickers and started wearing them at school.
Her most fashionable videos (In my opinion) are "What you waiting for" and "Cool"
"What You Waiting For" was inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass and she appears as several characters dressed in fashions by fashion designer John Galliano. You can also see the Harajuku influence throughout this video which is a mix of gothic lolita and cyber punk fashions.
"Cool" is my absolute favorite video from her. It was beautifully shot and the song is great, but the fashion is to die for. I want to have an entire wardrobe mimicked after the outfits in this video, every single piece. The video has a 1950s modern-vintage vibe from the pinup one-piece, gingham halter and belted dresses to the pompadour hair styles. Gwen, with her platinum blond hair and bold red lips, wears this particular style beautifully.

Her L.A.M.B. fashion line encompasses apparel, accessories and fragrance. Launched in 2004, her sporty street chic label is influenced by a variety of cultures such as Asian, South American, Guatemalan and Jamaican. Stefani has admitted that L.A.M.B. is a direct reflection of her personal taste--her "dream closet". I look forward to her next runway show and can't wait to see how she reinvents her image next.
Thanks for reading!
